The Pathfinder Foundation (PF) and Kalinga International Foundation (KIF) recently conducted ‘India-Sri Lanka Dialogue’ to examine the status of current Indo-Lanka relations and recommend the way forward for further developing friendly relations between the two countries, particularly people-to-people relations. The dialogue took place at Cinnamon Grand Hotel on October 29 and the event was attended by participants representing the two institutions and invitees interested in taking Indo-Lanka relations to the next level.

"Pathfinder Foundation Conducts Second Regional Conference - “Trincomalee Consultations 2018” . Following the successful first regional conference held in 2017 under the theme ‘Regional Cooperation for Economic Prosperity and Maritime Security in the Bay of Bengal’, Trincomalee Consultations - 2018’ was conducted by Pathfinder Foundation’s Centre for Indo-Lanka Initiatives on March 27.

Pathfinder Foundation (PF), in association with the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and in collaboration with the Strategic Council for Foreign Relations (SCFR) held a round-table conference on the theme ‘Iran and the Indian Ocean in the 21st Century’ on Thursday 15th February.

"The first bi-lateral conference between the Pathfinder Foundation (PF) and National Maritime Foundation (NMF) focused on developing a platform for analytical and innovative discussion, specifically on Maritime Security and Maritime Domain Awareness covering the Indian Ocean, which would favourably impact countries in the Indian Ocean Region, was held in Colombo last week. Admiral R.K. Dhowan with Directors of NMF, Admiral Jayanath Colombage, Director, Centre for Indo-Lanka Initiatives at PF with Chairman Bernard Goonetilleke and key resource personalities presented papers of the conference.

The Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS) of the National University of Singapore in collaboration with the Pathfinder Foundation conducted a Joint symposium on the Belt and Road Initiative. The Joint Symposium was inaugurated by Chairman of ISAS Ambassador-at-Large Gopinath Pillai, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Singapore.

The Pathfinder Foundation launched the Sinhala translation of Dr. Raja C. Mohan’s book “Samudra Manthan: Sino-Indian Rivalry in the Indo-Pacific” on 23rd January 2018 at Sequel Room, Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo. Citing a tale from Hindu mythology—Samudra Manthan or “Churning the Ocean”—Dr. Raja C. Mohan relates the story of Sino-Indian rivalry spilling over from the Great Himalayas into the Indian and Pacific Oceans.

The Pathfinder Foundation, together with an Australian delegation led by the National Security College at the Australian National University and Carnegie India held a one-day Track II trilateral conference titled ‘Colombo Dialogue: Emerging Dialogue in the Indian Ocean - Regional Cooperation on Maritime Domain Awareness’  at the Cinnamon Grand, Colombo. 

The Pathfinder Foundation and China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR) launched a joint publication titled "THE ISLAND OF THE LION AND THE LAND OF THE DRAGON". This CICIR-Pathfinder joint publication consists of academically enriched articles by both Sri Lankan and Chinese experts in their respective fields focusing on different facets of Sri Lanka and China relations. This treatise is published as a contribution to the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and China and in addition to the 65th anniversary of the "Rubber-Rice Pact".

"The fourth round of the Pathfinder Foundation tele – conference with its US partner the Heritage Foundation based in Washington D.C was held recently at the head office of Dialog.

"The Pathfinder Foundation together with a team led by Dr. Chen Dongxiao President, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS) conducted a Roundtable Discussion on the Maritime Silk Road & Sustainable Development on Monday 4th September 2017 in Colombo. This invitee only event is conducted in collaboration with the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS), one of the prestigious academic think tanks based in Shanghai, China."

"Together with the Pathfinder Foundation (PF), the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Social and Economic Governance Programme Asia (SOPAS) organised a bilateral expert roundtable conference titled ‘Social Market Economy in South Asia: Germans Experience of Fostering Small and Medium Enterprises’ in Colombo yesterday.

"The Centre for Indo-Lanka Initiatives (CILI) of the Pathfinder Foundation conducted a two-day round table discussion on Blue Economy with the Vivekanada International Foundation, in New Delhi. The focus of the discussion was guided by the theme, “Sustainable Exploitation of Marine Resources”.
